🚫 [4] 💞 BBV. Desperate, capable FL. Irresponsible, royal ML. Romance? Where? The ML doesn't know what the word means, and never learns. He's a selfish jerk who has no ability to think outside his box, let alone trying to imagine how the FL feels in hers.
So let me start this out with a message that has been a staple of media reviewers:
"If I could give zero stars, I would."
I can't respect any of the characters, maybe except the grandma. ML is horrid, FL is very emotional for someone who is supposedly "even-tempered", and Amber is 1-dimensionally manipulative and plays into really harmful stereotypes. Also at the end FL says she wants to hear "I love you" from ML, and what does she get?! "I want you"! He views her as nothing more than a bed-warmer with a personality he likes instead of a real woman. Ughhh. Zero stars.
Usual problem miscomunication.

I just couldn't respect the ML. I understand the bind he was in, but it irked me he had to 'try before you buy'. What was he going to do if they weren't so "well matched"? Go find a girl on the street? It ignored and cheapened all the positive qualities he said he was choosing her for and implied she had more worth as an enjoyable bed warmer.
I was a little irritated with the FL for buying into the OW's accusations whole hog. The first accusation she brought up to the ML she already knew was a bald face lie! She KNEW that HE knew she was a virgin, She knew he heard the phone call and he confirmed he knew their first night! She should have been suspicious enough to at least approach it more calmly.
That said, I couldn't believe the ML was so quick to shut down her concerns in the desert and he never denied visiting the OW while he couldn't visit the FL in the harem. And then when he finally DID come clean, knowing her concerns, he was so blunt and didn't even try to understand. Where was that silver tongue he used in NY? Instead, he just proved he wanted (and could make her want him) physically which does nothing to soothe battered emotions. And he doesn't understand why she is so upset about being deceived? Are we saying he would have no problem with someone making a life-altering contract with him under false pretenses? I doubt it.
This leads me to my last peeve... He doesn't tell HER how he feels. She is just lucky enough to hear him tell his FATHER, "I love her," but when she begs him to repeat it, does she get to hear him say, "I love you," to her face? No. He says "I want you," which, previously, has just meant he wants her physically. Maybe I'm nitpicking, but couldn't at least the ending been a bit more romantic and confirming?
So cringe 😬🤣, and why is being a virgin an issue!? I mean, i too am a virgin, granted I'm only 23 now but I've never even been kissed! And nobody is making an issue about it🤣
